Rechtsupweg

Rechtsupweg is a municipality in the district of Aurich in East Friesland in Brookmerland. The municipality has 2057 inhabitants and covers an area of 5.13 square kilometers. The community is one of the smallest in terms of area municipalities in Lower Saxony.

History

The municipality was created in 1769 as Moor colony. The designation is based on a cul -Schott Upgant the community in the marsh.

Parish council

The Council of the Municipality Council Rechtsupweg consists of 13 women and councilors. This is the set number for the member community of integrated municipality with a population of 2,001 to 3,000 inhabitants. The 13 council members are elected through local elections for five years. The current term of office began on 1 November 2011.

The turnout in the local elections of 2011 was 51.46 %, slightly below the Lower Saxony average of 52.5 %. For comparison - in the previous local elections on 10 September 2006, the turnout was 52.63 %.

To the west of the municipality the main road runs north between 72 and Aurich.

Clubs

Games and sports Rechtsupweg: The founding meeting of games and sports Rechtsupweg took place in the restaurant Allotria on May 6, 1965. Invited to the then village schoolmaster Erwin fire.
