Reckenroth

Reckenroth is a municipality in the Rhein- Lahn-Kreis in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Katzenelenbogen. In Nassau there common dialect of the place " Reckert " is called.

Geography

Reckenroth located in the western Hintertaunus, at an altitude of 340 m above sea level. NN, approximately 30 km northwest of Wiesbaden. The place is located directly on the border of Hesse, and borders with its municipal area in the south and west by Laufenselden in the Rheingau -Taunus-Kreis, also located on the east by Michel Bach in the Rheingau -Taunus -Kreis, and to the north by Eisighofen in the Rhine- Lahn-Kreis.

History

Reckenroth was first mentioned in 1235 and was until 1479 part of the county Katzenelenbogen, was then by way of inheritance Hessian and 1816 the Duchy of Nassau incorporated, which was annexed in 1866 by the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 Reckenroth is part of Rhineland- Palatinate. 1972 came in the wake of an administrative reform to form the municipality Katzenelenbogen who belongs to the local church Reckenroth.

Parish council

The local council in Reckenroth consists of six council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009, by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.
