Reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer

ROADM (pronounced " roudamm ") is a reconfigurable optical add - drop multiplexer as a module in remote optical transport networks.

With a ROADM fueled with wavelength division multiplexing optical transmission system, additional wavelengths added (add) or branched (drop). The added and dropped wavelengths are on the feeder - glass fibers ( Tributaries ) led to the ROADM.
