Recount (film)

Recount is an American film drama from the year 2008. Directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong.

Action

The film shows the recounting of votes in Florida during the presidential election in the United States 2000. Al Gore's chief of staff Ron Klain is pushing for a recount of the votes while Warren Christopher damage to the image of the United States in the world fears. The Republicans call the events as a " street fight for the presidency ." James Baker and the Returning Officer for Florida Katherine Harris interfere in the public debate, leading to a court hearing. On 8 December 2000, the recount is ordered by the court.

Reviews

Brian Lowry wrote in the journal Variety on 19 May 2008, the film was " intelligent and star busy". He offers " a more finely tuned representation " of Kevin Spacey. Tom Wilkinson it creates, in the relatively limited time " posh, avuncular, ruthless and brilliant," the character portrayed James Baker portray.

Awards

The film received in 2008 as Best TV Movie, directed and for cutting the Emmy. Among the eight other nominations for the same price included those for the script and for the representations of Kevin Spacey, Tom Wilkinson, Bob Balaban, Denis Leary and Laura Dern.

The 66th Annual Golden Globe Awards January 11, 2009 Laura Dern won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini -Series or Motion Picture Made for Television.

Background

Time, it has been provided as a director Sydney Pollack, who, however, due to illness got out of the project. The film was shot in Jacksonville (Florida ) and Tallahassee. Its premiere in the United States took place on 25 May 2008.
