Rectus capitis posterior minor muscle

The rectus capitis posterior minor (Latin for " small rear straight head muscle " ) is a small skeletal muscle of the head - neck junction. It rises at the rear arch of the atlas and is applied to the lower neck line ( inferior nuchal line ) of the occipital bone. He is in deep neck triangle medial to the rectus capitis posterior major and is from the overlying muscle semispinalis capitis covered. He holds the first head joint.
