Recuva

Recuva is a free program for data recovery for hard disk drives and removable media. It is compatible with Windows starting with Windows 2000. From Windows XP, it also supports 64- bit systems.

The manufacturer states that lost the program restores lost files on both Windows -based computers and on memory cards and MP3 players.

There are different versions of the program available for download. It can also be downloaded without the Yahoo toolbar and a portable version in addition to the normal version.

In chip.de the program has been downloaded 2.2 million times.

Recuva has received from the website Softpedia 4.4 of 5 rating points. In a test of the computer screen it was rated adequate. Was praised was the very good data recovery on NTFS disks, criticized the rescue on FAT hard drives and on external data carriers.
