Red, Hot and Blue!

Red, Hot and Blue! is a musical comedy with music and song lyrics by Cole Porter and a book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Lindsay took over the game in the line produced by Vinton Freedley piece, which premiered on October 29, 1936 at the Alvin Theatre in New York. It was one of five Broadway musicals ( Anything Goes, Du Barry Was a Lady, Panama Hattie, Something for the Boys) composed for the Cole Porter and in the Ethel Merman played the lead role. Next to her, played Jimmy Durante and Bob Hope.

Action

" Nails " O'Reilly Duquesne, former manicure and wealthy widow, whose goal is to help former prisoners back on their feet, held a statewide lottery to raise funds sufficient for this task. Their partners are their attorney Bob Hale, with whom she is in love, and the ex-prisoner "policy " Pinkle who misses his comfortable prison life.
