Red River Parish, Louisiana

The Red River Parish (French: Paroisse de la Rivière- Rouge) is a parish located in the U.S. state of Louisiana. In the census in 2010 had the Parish 9091 inhabitants and a population density of 9 people per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( Parish Seat) is Coushatta.

History

Red River Parish was formed in 1871 from parts of the Bienville Parish, Bossier Parish of, the Caddo Parish and Natchitoches Parish of. It was named after the river on which the county is located.
