Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area

The Red Rock Canyon is located about 27 km west of Las Vegas, in the middle of the high desert of Nevada (USA). It owes its name to the Paleozoic Kaibab limestone, the colorful, dating from the Triassic Moenkopi formations, Shinarump and Chinle and the fossilized dunes of the red-white- yellow Aztec sandstone of Middle Jurassic.
