Red Wings Airlines

Red Wings Airlines is a Russian airline based in Moscow and base at the airport Vnukovo.

History

Red Wings was founded under the name VARZ -400, 1999. VARZ meant translated Vnukovo Aviation Repair operation. In 2001 she was renamed Airlines 400 before it received its present name in 2007. It is owned by the tycoon Alexander Lebedev.

In 2008 the company, with the new Airbus A320 -200 and Airbus A321 -200 may also supplement their Tu -204 fleet planning. To date, these plans were not realized and the implementation of the 2010 proclaimed ordering a total of 40 Tu- 204SM is questionable. In June 2013, Red Wings got a new operating license and took the regular operation again.

Incidents

On December 29, 2012, a Tupolev Tu -204 -100 ( RA- 64047 ) came to the landing at the airport Vnukovo not to stand, fell at high speed over the runway out and hit the embankment of the adjacent motorway M3.
