Rederscheid is a village in the municipality Wind Hagen in Rhineland-Palatinate district of Neuwied.

Geography

Rederscheid situated at 300 m above sea level. NN, 7 km east of the city of Bad Honnef and approximately 2 km west of the center of wind Hagen. It extends as a linear village along the county road 26 ( border direction Rottbitze - Hallerbach - Unterelsaff ) on a flat, 300 m high on average ridge Asbacher plateau with a good view to the southwest. He is surrounded by the valleys of the Swiss fields Bach in the southwest and the Reder Scheider Bach in the Northeast. To the northwest is adjacent to a wooded area that separates Rederscheid of which around 500 meters away Aegidienberger Rottbitze district (city Bad Honnef ). The nearest towns also feature Kohler mockery in the east, Hallerbach the southeast and welding field in the West. Below and two kilometers to the east and to Reder Scheider district lies the fishing house in Appental, which is identified as living space.

Rederscheid marks the transition from the Lower Devonian Upper layers in a victory to the north extending, or quaternary consisting of Pleistocene solifluction and further rearrangement training area.

History

Due to the topographical location of Rederscheid one can start from a settlement of the present village location in the Celtic period around the 6th century BC.

Mentioned in appearance joined the site in 1660 under the name Redtscheid in taking inventory in the Electoral Cologne office Altenwied, as here five houses were counted. Rederscheid was the capital and namesake of one of the two Honschaften that make up the parish Wind Hagen composed Altenwied in office. The Honschaft was initially referred to as Hohner Honschaft. 1803, the Honschaft as part of the Office Altenwied to the Prince of Wied - Runkel and 1806 to the newly formed Office Altenwied in the Duchy of Nassau. After the Rhineland in 1815 ceded to the Congress of Vienna to Prussia, Rederscheid 1817 the mayor assigned Altenwied in Neuwied district. 1817 the capital was listed as a hamlet with 56 inhabitants and had a grist mill. After the dissolution of the mayoralty Altenwied Honschaft came with their territory in order mayoralty Asbach and was renamed in the latest " community Rederscheid " 1845. 1931 received Rederscheid own post office as an official site of the post office Linz, belonged to their delivery area also Hallerbach and welding field.

As part of Rhineland-Palatinate administrative and territorial reform the then independent municipality Rederscheid was incorporated with then 728 inhabitants and an area of 5.95 km ² in the community wind Hagen on November 7, 1970. The municipality Rederscheid included the districts and residential places Frohnen, Günterscheid, Hallerbach, scorn, Hohner mill, Köhler scorn and field welding. The once predominantly agricultural village now has no more working farm. It has developed into a prosperous city, with the growth of the town along the thoroughfare to the northwest ( Rottbitze ) took place. Beginning of the 1970s was built on the eastern edge Reder Scheids a conference hotel (now Dorint ), which is framed by a stepwise until the early 1990s designed golf course with 18 holes. In April 2014, the last to busy hotel will be closed due to structural defects. Not far from the hotel building there is a riding stable. Currently, the village has around 400 inhabitants in around 100 households.

In the vernacular of the place was formerly called " Rätschend ", also called " Kölsch Rätschend " to distinguish it from the nearby small town Retscheid, which then " reports Rätschend " said.

Culture and sights

The Catholic Chapel of St Sebastian is a small hall building with half-timbered gables from the year 1803. Contains a Baroque altar. As a cultural monument historical monument, a wayside cross from 1856 and outside the local situation on Reder Scheider district are the parish from the 19th century Hohner mill located on the outskirts of Oberelsaff.
