Redman (Rapper)
Redman ( born April 17, 1970 in Newark, New Jersey, whose real name is Reggie Noble) is an American rapper who became famous in the 1990s as an artist on Def Jam. He is also known for his work with the Wu -Tang Clan member Method Man. Nicknamed the " Redman " he received after a snowball hit him on the cheek and they started off then red.
Biography
Redman debuted in the EPMD songs hardcore and Brothers on My Jock after him Erick Sermon, part of this influential group, had discovered in a New York club in the freestyle and him in their Hit Squad crew of aspiring emcees (along with K- Solo and other ) recorded. Until then, Redman studied at Montclair State College and sold drugs to finance themselves. Redman Def Jam debut, Whut? Thee Album in 1992 ventured into the U.S. Top 50, reaching gold status in the States. After that, he was named the well-known hip-hop magazine The Source for Rap Artist of the Year for 1993.
Redman's solo career continued for the rest of the decade. Each of his albums selling at least half a million times. His musical style was strengthened and became a combination of unique swaggering wit and hard P- funk -influenced beats. In addition to the albums under his own name he brought, as part of the Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon ), 1998 album El Nino out. With his label mates Method Man, whom he allegedly met on a Kriss -Kross Party, he brought then 1999 album Blackout! out, heralding the beginning of a long friendship and cooperation. He also collaborated with many other artists from the hip-hop environment and from other genres. This long list includes Gorillaz, Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, The Offspring, Christina Aguilera, D' Angelo, Meshell Ndegeocello, Eminem, 2Pac, Jodeci, Cypress Hill, KRS One, De La Soul, Das EFX, Limp Bizkit, DMX and IAM.
2001, the film So High came out in the Redman Method Man playing along with the main role. The two play two stoners who try to come to Harvard University to make ends meet. Meth & Red also appear in Def Jam Vendetta video game series, mostly as a tag team. They also had 2004/2005 their own television series Method & Red show at Fox, but this was discontinued after a few episodes.
On 27 March 2007, after a long delay followed the album Red Gone Wild, inter alia, with features of Method Man, Snoop Dogg, Biz Markie. Producers are Timbaland, Scott Storch, Rockwilder, Pete Rock and Erick Sermon. On 15 May 2009 appeared with Blackout 2 is a continuation of the collabo album with Method Man.
Redman is seen in Raquel Reed's new music video " I'll Show You "; a song he has recorded with her.
2012 was followed by a feature with the German -Iranian rapper Fard with the song Still Hatin ' and 2013 with the song Like This, which is published on the album Bellum et Pax Fard 2013.
