Rednex is a company founded in 1994 music project from Sweden.

Rednex emerged as a retort band of producers Janne Ericsson, Örjan Öberg, and Pat Reiniz (born Patrick Edenberg ).
The group consists of the musicians Annika Ljungberg ( " Mary Joe " front woman), " Ace ", " Snake" and " Maverick" ( 1994 to 2001 consisting of the musicians Billy Ray, Bobby Sue, BB Stiff and frontwoman Mia Löfgren ( " Whippy " ), from 2001 to 2004 consisting of Julie -Anne Tulley ( "Scarlet ", frontwoman ), Dagger ( lead Singer ), Joe CAGG and Jaylee, early 2004 Joe CAGG and Jaylee of " Ace" and " Crock " replaced, end of the same year also "Scarlet " decided for an exit. ).
The name Rednex derives from the American term redneck (literally: Rotnacken ) from, a standard in the U.S., pejorative term for a Southerner in respect of all associated clichés and stereotypes (political / religious conservatism / reactionism, rural / agricultural life and Country music ), which by their musical style, her outfit and her movie clips embodies the band (and caricatured / parodies ).
The Stockholm project of several musicians, stylists and producers ended in 1994 with the cover version of the North American country song Cotton Eye Joe her first international No. 1 hit, which stayed 25 weeks in the German single charts. 10 weeks of this, the title was on the 1-position, which no Swedish production was previously managed yet. In Germany alone they sold over 1.7 million singles. As the successor to Old Pop Hits appeared in at Oak and Wish You Were Here. After a break of almost six years Rednex were again successful. With the book written by Axel Breitung title Spirit Of The Hawk they finished nine weeks number 1 in the German single charts. The singer Mary Joe had been in the meantime replaced by Whippy and Scarlet.
Typical of Rednex are fast songs like Cotton Eye Joe, Wild'n Free or Spirit of the Hawk, Euro Dance mix the music with country elements and Western film samples. However, they also achieved chart success with the two ballads Wish You Were Here and Hold Me For A While.
In March 2006, the band recorded - with new and some well-known members ( as Mary Joe replaced again Scarlet) - with the song Mama take me home on the Swedish Trials for Euro Vision Song Contest 2006 part. The following year, she participated with the band Ro -Mania at the national preliminary Romania. Your title Well -o -wee but was disqualified for a breach of the rules of the game. In 2008, she appeared again with Ro -Mania, entitled Railroad, Railroad preliminary decision on the Romanian, but already eliminated from the semi-finals. On 26 September 2008, the founder and owner of Rednex announced through a press release on www.rednexmusic.com that the entire staff of the band is changed from 1 January 2009. The new band will consist of the previous members of Scarlet, Dagger, Joe CAGG and Ace Ratclaw. This is the second time that all members be replaced. For the first time this happened in January 2001 when Whippy, Billy Ray, Bobby Sue and BB Stiff left the band and were replaced by Scarlet, Dagger, Joe CAGG and Jay Lee. "
Since the year 2009 100 shares of the band, each worth 1008 SEK are sold that include all rights.
2012 appears the fourth studio album "Saturday Night Beaver ", which was first published under the Lable RockaRecords. As a first single from it will be released on December 31, 2011 " Raise Your Glass".
