Reel 2 Real
Reel 2 Real was an American duo consisting of DJ Erick Morillo and Mark Quashie rapper called The Mad Stuntman. They were successful in the 1990s. Their first release under the title The New Anthem was a number-one hit in the U.S. dance charts. The sound of the project can be called a U.S. dancefloor with ragga influences.
They had their biggest hit but with the following single I Like To Move It Reel 2 Real featuring as The Mad Stuntman. They came not only in the official U.S. Hot 100, in Europe it was in many countries a top 10 hit and reached for example in Germany 3rd place and 5th place in the UK In France it was even 5 weeks the number 1
After that, they were very successful, especially in Europe and had to 1996 numerous other successes.
Through the film Madagascar (2005) Reel 2 Real's song I Like To Move It gained new awareness again. In 2012, the song was used in a cover version of the Ukrainian band Los Colorados as Fußballhit ZDF European Football Championship in 2012.
