Reform Party (Latvia)

The Reformu partija ( Reform Party ) until April 21, 2012 Zatlera reformu partija ( Zatlers Reform Party ) is a political party in Latvia.

The party was founded by Valdis Zatlers shortly after the end of his term as president of Latvia. The founding congress was held on 23 July 2011, the date of a self- initiated by him referendum on the dissolution of Parliament, instead. Zatlers, who was elected with 251 votes to 2 party chairman, had already announced on July 9 that his party would cooperate in any case with the three so-called oligarch parties OCD, LPP / LC and Tautas partija. A collaboration with the Russian Saskaņas Centrs is possible only if that party would recognize the occupation of Latvia by the Soviet Union as a historical fact.

The party won in the election to the 11th Saeima 20.78% of the vote and became the second largest party. However, formed on October 16, one day before the meeting of Parliament, 6 ZRP deputies own faction.
