Refuge Torino
The Rifugio Torino ( 3375 m slm ), also Rifugio Torino Nuovo, is a farmed in the summer months refuge in the Graian in the Mont Blanc area of the northern Italian autonomous region of Valle d'Aosta. The Rifugio of the Club Alpino Italiano ( CAI) belongs to the municipality of Courmayeur.
History
The first Rifugio, the Rifugio Torino Vecchio, on the Colle del Gigante below the Pointe Helbronner ( Punta Helbronner ) was built in 1898 (1963 year). Here is the top station of the cable car opened in 1948, the ( 1375 m ) at Courmayeur leads up from La Palud. Since 1958, another cable car connection, the small gondola Vallée Blanche (also funivia of the Glaciers ), the Aiguille du Midi ( 3842 m). The connection between the two cabins a steep iron staircase was built, which is fully walled.
