Regal Recordings

Regal Records was a British record label that was later merged with Zonophone Records.

History

Regal was founded in 1914 as a sub-label of Columbia Records. The label was intended to Columbia to enter the market in the UK and U.S. to expel Columbia recordings there. By 1932 Regal therefore acted as more or less independent label.

1932 merged Regal Zonophone Records, along with about Regal Zonophone Records, also again. Than sub-label for Columbia

In the 1990s, Regal was re aufbelebt for some time by EMI. In the present day artists like Lily Allen, Beta Band or Jakobinarina at the label.
