Regat Germans

Regatdeutsche or Old Reich - German are German-speaking people who live in eastern and southern part of Romania. " Regatta " or " Old Reich " in this context means the Kingdom of Romania before World War II. This area includes the Moldova (Romanian: Moldova), the Dobrudja ( Dobrogea ) and Wallachia.

According to the 1930 census lived in the Romanian Altreich 12,581 German in Dobrogea ( Dobrudschadeutsche ) and other 32 366 German in Wallachia ( including 14,200 in Bucharest ) and in the western Moldova.
