The Regensburg train station Hauptbahnhof ( Hbf Regensburg ) is the largest train station in the city of Regensburg.
Location
The Regensburg Central Station is located on the southern edge of the Old Town close to the renowned St. Emmeram. Front of the station there is a taxi stand and the regional bus station, a short distance from the central public transport hub " Bustreff Albert Street ". The train station offers plenty of shopping opportunities; since the renovation in 2004 opens up the track overpass and the south of the station located shopping center " Regensburg " arcade. History
Regensburg was 1859, when the Royal privileged Actiengesellschaft the Bavarian Ostbahnen joined the Eastern Bavaria metropolis with Nuremberg and Munich, its first rail connection. The station building was built in 1857-1859 by the architect Heinrich von hill at the south end of the Maximilian street.
