Reginald Rose

Reginald Rose ( born December 10, 1920 in New York City; † April 19, 2002 in Norwalk, Connecticut) was an American writer.

Rose began in 1938 after finishing his studies at City College in New York to work as a copywriter. Between 1942 and 1946 he was a soldier in World War II and rose to the rank of lieutenant. In 1951, he wrote screenplays for television programs and stage plays. His most famous work was the legal drama Twelve Angry Men ( Twelve Angry Men ), which he had written in 1954 as a television game within the series Studio One. When Sidney Lumet in 1957 with Henry Fonda staged in the lead role Theatrical Cut Rose served as screenwriter and producer. In the following decades was followed by other films of this piece. Also for the medical drama Is not this my life? He has written the screenplay. For his work Rose has received numerous awards, including several Emmy Awards.
