Regions Financial is a U.S. bank headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama.

The company was founded in 1971 under the name of First Alabama Bancshares. In the company some 39,500 people are employed (as of 2008). Regions Financial has worked as a financial institution primarily in the southern United States. The company is listed on the stock index S & P 500.

In December 2000, the company was acquired Morgan Keegan in Memphis, Tennessee. 2006 Regions Financial merged with AmSouth Bancorporation the bank from Alabama.
