Rehna (Amt)

The Office Rehna located in the western part of the North West in Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ). In this office 12 municipalities and the city Rehna are merged ( Headquarters ). For office originally belonged to 17 municipalities: municipalities Bülow, Demern and Great Rünz merged on 13 June 2004 to the municipality of King field. The formerly independent municipality Löwitz was incorporated on the same day in the city Rehna. 1 July 2011, merged the communities Köchelstorf and Wedendorf to the municipality Wedendorfersee.

The office area extends from the eastern shore of the Great Ratzeburger on the border to Schleswig -Holstein over the valleys of Maurine and Radegast flowing in south-north direction for Stepenitz. The area is predominantly agricultural; the intact nature, particularly in Schaalsee, whose northern half is in office Rehna, let the tourism play an increasingly more important.

At the northern border of the Office Rehna the Baltic Sea motorway A 20 (Lübeck -Rostock ) passes. The Federal Highway 104 ( from Lubeck to Schwerin ) traverses the office area from north to south. From Rehna a railway line over Gadebusch leads to Schwerin.
