Reichartshausen

Reichartshausen is a municipality with about 2000 inhabitants in the Rhein- Neckar-Kreis in Baden- Württemberg. It belongs to the Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Waibstadt and the tourist region of fountain region.

Geography

Location and natural space

Reichartshausen lies in the transition region of Kraichgau and Odenwald, located in the so-called Kleiner Odenwald, in the north of Baden- Württemberg, about 15 km from Sinsheim. Neighboring towns are Schönbrunn in the north, Aglasterhausen in the east, helmet city barges in the southeast, southwest and Lobbach Epfenbach in the west.

The district extends 196-380 meters above sea level and covers 1,000 hectares. Of these, 12.6 per cent of settlement and traffic area, 47.0 percent is used for agriculture and 39.7 percent are forested.

Reichartshausen has a share in the conservation area Neckar Valley I - Kleiner Odenwald. The relief- low mountain range has been put under protection due to their beauty, variety and uniqueness in 2002 and is part of the Neckar -Odenwald Nature Park.

History

Reichartshausen was first mentioned in documents as Richard Husen in 1100, the foundation of the town dated but probably back in Alemannic time. The village was the seat of the center court of the so-called Empire Arts Hauser or Stüber center and came up with this in 1367 for the Electoral Palatinate and the Unteramt Dilsberg was assumed, which later belonged to the upper office Heidelberg. The local state changed hands many times.

1803 came Reichartshausen to Baden, where it was founded in 1810 the district office Neckarbischofsheim and 1864 the county Sinsheim incorporated. 1939 counted 829 inhabitants, the end of 1945 there were 989

As part of the Baden-Württemberg district reform in the district Sinsheim was dissolved in 1973 and the congregation affiliated with the newly formed Rhein- Neckar-Kreis. Reichartshausen joined the Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Waibstadt. The growth of the church was accompanied by infrastructure projects such as the construction of an outdoor swimming pool, a festival hall and a youth campground. In 2000, the 900 th anniversary of the first mention was celebrated. 2004 Reichartshausen had more than 2000 inhabitants for the first time.

Religions

1522 the Reformation was introduced in Reichartshausen. It was only due to the influx of displaced persons after the Second World War increased the Catholic share of the population, so that in 1966 the church was built on the Hornberg. The evangelical community is part of the church district Kraichgau the Evangelical Church in Baden and the Catholic community to the dean's office of the Archdiocese of Freiburg Kraichgau.

The mayor is directly elected for eight years. Otto Eckert officiated since 1994.

Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: Argent, on a green sign foot of a red house, the middle section increases like a tower with a black cross on the pointed roof.

The coat of arms, which was awarded in 1901 by the General State Archives, goes back to a court seal, which is detectable since 1752. The meaning is not clear. It could indicate as canting arms on the place name. Another interpretation would be a symbolization for the Town Hall, which met the center court.

The flag is green and white and in 1956 awarded by the Ministry of Interior.

Partnerships

Reichartshausen maintains partnership relations since October 3, 1990 to the village of Neudorf / Spree Malschwitz the community in Saxony.

Culture and sights

The Protestant church dates from 1772 and was renovated in 2000. Worth seeing is the baroque pulpit of the church, the interior is decorated with simple paintings of other churches in the surroundings.

The center of Reichartshausen is characterized by several, partly historic fountain, surrounded by Baroque vicarage and other Baroque buildings as well.

The Town Hall is one erected outside the historic settlement core of modern functional building, the schoolhouse was built in 1891 and expanded in 1950.

The Karl -Ludwig oak is according to tradition, dating back to Elector Karl Ludwig. He stuck around 1650 at a hunting trip an acorn in the ground after him like they should be on the food. In Reichartshausen there are in addition several hiking trails and a forest campground and a heated outdoor pool. Until a few years ago there was in Reichartshausen also a nice park where the historic gallows stood column. This was also sold as part of the " righteous village center redevelopment ".

Traffic

Southeast of Reichartshausen runs the federal highway 292 which produces the A 6 On Sinsheim connection. In the surrounding villages lead bus routes. Reichartshausen belongs to the tariff zone of the transport association Rhein- Neckar.

About the local scene reported the Rhein- Neckar-Zeitung. The newsletter of the local government association Waibstadt appears weekly.

Education

In Reichartshausen there is a primary school, an evangelical public library and a branch of the community college Sinsheim. For the youngest inhabitants are two kindergartens. Secondary schools can be visited in Epfenbach, Waibstadt and Neckarbischofsheim.
