Reichsbahndirektion Augsburg

The Reichsbahndirektion Augsburg ( with formation of the German Federal Railroad in 1949 in Bundesbahndirektion Augsburg renamed) was an administrative district of the Bavarian Group Administration of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. By 1920, the railway administration bore the name of railway management Augsburg. The headquarters of the railway administration was at the Prince Regent square near the Augsburg Central Station. There, the administration building was constructed in contemporary architecture in the years 1938 and 1939. After assignment to Bundesbahndirektion Munich in 1971, the Reichsbahn Augsburg was dissolved. The former administration building was purchased by the district of Augsburg in 1978 and since then used as a district office Augsburg.
