Reimlingen lies in the planning region of Augsburg.

There is only the district Reimlingen.

History

The German Order was a gift since 1283 landowner, patron saint of the local church as well as the owner of the village court in Reimlingen. In the 17th century it was Obervogt Office of Landcommanderij Ellingen of the Teutonic Order. As a place that belonged to Deutschordensballei francs, Reimlingen was in the Frankish Empire circle. With the Act of Confederation in 1806 the place came to the Kingdom of Bavaria. The possessions of the Order had been in 1805 /06 sequestered by Bavaria, although the Orden de jure still continued to exist until 1809. As part of the administrative reform in Bavaria was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Culture and sights

  • The Reimlingen castle was built in 1595. 1634 it was the seat and headquarters of the Imperial at the Battle of Albuch. From 1733 to 1736 it was raised by one floor and from 1745 to 1748 it received new walls and gates. 1806, the castle was secularized. Since 1997 it is owned by the municipality Reimlingen. In 2006, the facade of the main building was renovated and renewed.
  • The parish church of St. George was first documented in 1147. 1729/30 the nave and the tower was largely rebuilt.
  • The Branch Church of St. Stephen was first mentioned in 1372. Its present shape and form was given around 1700. Mariahilf The chapel was built in 1730 by DO.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
