Reine Almqvist

Reine Almqvist (* April 21, 1949 ) is a former Swedish football player who now operates as a football coach.

Playing career

Reine Almqvist started his professional career at IFK Göteborg, where he played from 1967 to 1972. In 1973 he moved to Åtvidabergs FF. There, however, he remained only two years. In 1976 he made ​​a short detour to IFK Sundsvall. In the same year he returned to IFK Göteborg, where he still played until 1980. Then he moved to the United States to the Seattle Sounders. In the season 1981/1982 he played for BK Hacken, where he was later in his career as a coach three times. His last two stops were in 1983 and 1984 Ope IF Djerv 1919. During the latter club he was afterwards sometimes coach.

National

He graduated between the years 1970 and 1979, four caps for the Swedish national football team.

Coaching career

His coaching career began in 1977 IF Olsfors. He remained there, however, only a year. In 1982, he coached the club Kullens BK. After a year there, he transferred to BK Hacken, where he played as a player from 1981 to 1982. From 1984 to 1993 he coached the clubs Djerv 1919 Fredrikstad FK and in turn the BK Hacken. In 1994 he was hired as coach of Helsingborgs IF in 1998 and moved to his very first club, where he plays as a professional and that the IFK Göteborg, where he remained, however, only a year. From 2000 to 2005 he coached the clubs LandskronaBolS, Bryne FK and FK Tønsberg. In 2006, he began for the third time as manager of BK Hacken, but did not remain there long. Between 2007 and 2008 he coached the team from Västra Frölunda IF. In 2009 he returned to his first coach station to IF Olsfors. In 2010 he began again as an assistant coach at Helsingborgs IF.
