Reinhard Pöllath

Reinhard Pöllath ( born January 15, 1948 in Marktredwitz ) is a German business lawyer, manager and honorary professor.

Life

Pöllath comes from a family in Upper Franconia, which operated a carpentry since the 17th century. He put 1967 in Marktredwitz the Abitur. After military service, he studied from 1969 to 1973 Law at the University of Regensburg and the Ludwig- Maximilians- University of Munich. Subsequently, he received a scholarship from the Study Foundation of the German people, with whose support he to 1974 a program of study completed at Harvard Law School to the master.

In 1977 he was admitted as a lawyer and worked as a lawyer in Munich, also in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. From 1993 he was a partner of a law firm in Munich until 1997 and managing director of a real estate and hotel business. Along with other attorneys he founded in 1997 colleagues, P P Pöllath Partners; the firm has offices in Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt. He specializes in advising family, corporate acquisition, succession and wealth, international and German tax law, trusts and foundations, as well as pro bono activities. So he advises about the Quandt family.

He is best known as an advisor of the family heart, as interim chief offered him by disputes of heirs in 2002 the Supervisory Board chair of Tchibo Holding AG. He served as the successor to Jens Odewald for 13 months The Office.

Pöllath holds an honorary professorship at the Institute for Tax Law at the Westfälische Wilhelms- University in Münster ( Westphalia ) and is CEO of Max - Planck - Support Foundation, which he founded in 2006 together with Stefan von Holtzbrinck.
