Reinhard Skricek

Reinhard Skricek ( born January 4, 1948 in Scholven ) is a retired German boxer. Skricek was bronze medalist of the Olympic Games 1976.

Career

Skricek in 1968, 1973 and 1976, respectively German vice-champion in the welterweight ( -67 kg ). 1970, 1973 and 1976, he won the Military World Championships. He began boxing at the BC alder, but started later for the Boxstaffel of Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

In 1976 he was nominated for the Olympic Games in Montreal, but he had lost at the German Championship in the final against Harald Wolfgang Sixt. However, in the same year, he also reached the semi-finals in each of international tournaments in Budapest and Ostrava. In the games he won after beating Jose Vallejo, Dominican Republic (5-0 ), Luigi Minchillo, Italy ( 5:0 ), and Mike McCallum, Jamaica (3:2), and a semi-final defeat against eventual silver medalist Pedro Gamarro, Venezuela (RSC 3 ), surprisingly the bronze medal.

After this success Skricek ended his career. He became a coach and coached among others Bundesliga Season of BSK 27 Ahlen. He also remained faithful to the army and served as a sergeant in the sports company in Warendorf. Skricek has been living in Sassenberg.

During his time at BSK 27 Ahlen, he was also involved in the scandal surrounding the East Westphalian red size Egon Kaderka.
