Reinhold Bernt

Reinhold Bernt ( born December 19, 1902 in Berlin, † October 26, 1981 in West Berlin; actually Reinhold Bienert ) was a German actor and screenwriter.

Life and work

After his training as an actor, he made his theatrical debut on a stage in Stuttgart, before he returned to Berlin. Here he founded with his brother, actor Gerhard Bienert, and other colleagues, the " group of young actors ," the aufführte socially critical pieces especially. Later he worked for other stages in Berlin and from 1930 to direct films such as The Blue Angel. There were a few main roles as an actor as well as activities as an assistant director and scriptwriter, including several awards for Karl Valentin and Liesl Karlstadt, but also in Nazi propaganda films such as Hitler Youth Quex (1933 ) or in the name of the people ( 1939). In Veit Harlan inflammatory film Jew Suss 1940 he had a supporting role.

After the Second World War, he first played at the Schiller Theater in Berlin and since 1949 also in DEFA film productions. The big movie roles but were rare, he had to content himself often with supporting roles, so he became increasingly active and broadcasting.

Bernt died on 26 October 1981 in Berlin.
