Reinhold Pommer

Reinhold Pommer ( born January 6, 1935 in Haßfurt ) is a retired German racing cyclist, who won an Olympic bronze medal in the team competition of the road race in 1956.

Pommer began seven years to run cycling and later became a member of the RMC 1950 eV in Schweinfurt. Highlight of his career was his participation in the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne. As a member of the all-German team, he finished in the individual road race and won the 18th place along with the DDR drivers Gustav -Adolf Schur, Erich Hagen Horst Tüller the bronze medal in the team competition. In the Federal Republic, he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf. In the same year Pommer was German vice-champion of the amateurs in the individual road race.

1958 joined Pommer, who had previously worked as a bicycle mechanic, in the professional paddock over and signed a contract with the torpedo racing team, which was supported by the Schweinfurt Fichtel & Sachs. He remained the team faithful to the end of his career. When he got back to Torpedo Tüller Horst, who had moved to the Federal Republic in 1958.
