Reino Paasilinna

Reino Paasilinna ( born December 5, 1939 on a ship in the Arctic Ocean ) is a Finnish politician and MEP.

Career

He is a member of the Social Democratic Party of Finland, which is part of the Party of European Socialists, and sits on the European Parliament Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Reino Paasilinna was born on the Aunus, a ship that was in at the time of his birth in the Arctic Ocean near the Norwegian coast. Reino Paasilinna family comes from Petsamo, fled in the Winter War against the Soviet troops in the Finno- Sami Kittila.

He also works as a substitute member of the Committee on Culture and Education, as Vice - Chairman of the Delegation of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committee EU and Russia and as a substitute for the Delegation for relations with the countries of Central America.
