Reinoud II. van Brederode

Reinoud van Brederode II (Eng. also Rainald, * 1415 Santpoort, † October 16, 1473 in Vianen ) was a Dutch nobleman from the House of Brederode.

He was the son of Walraven van Brederode and I. Johanna van Vianen, which he inherited as the ninth lord of Brederode. In addition, he led the title of Vrijheeren of Vianen and Ameide, a gentleman of Lexmond, Heicop, Boicop, Meerkerk, Tienhoven and Twaalfhoven. His paternal uncle Willem van Brederode was, until his official appointment to the Lord in 1438 Regent of Brederode's dominions.

In 1445 he was inducted into the Order of the Golden Fleece, and appointed Erbburggrafen of Utrecht. In addition, he was a knight in the Order of Jerusalem. Reinoud was his brother Gijsbrecht van Brederode, the Prince-Bishop of Utrecht, in his dispute with David of Burgundy to the side. The Brederode brothers were captured by him, and afflicted. After the year 1470 on them by Charles the Bold were given freedom. But reinoud II could not erfangen after these events.

Was married to Elizabeth II Reinoud Willems; from this marriage produced seven children, who were not long to be considered legal and are therefore considered Bastards. In 1458 itself Reinoud II married again, this time with Yolanda van Lalang, a daughter of Willem van Lalang. This marriage sprang a further seven children, including Walvaren II and Franz van Brederode.
