Reinstorf

Reinstorf is a municipality and a village in the integrated municipality in the district of Lüneburg, in Lower Saxony Ostheide.

Geography

Geographical Location

Reinstorf is about twelve kilometers east of Lüneburg in Lower Saxony. Neighboring villages are Wendhausen, Lumber and Horndorf, Sülbeck, New Wendhausen and New Sülbeck, the districts of the municipality Reinstorf are. Independent neighboring municipalities are Barendorf Vastorf, Thomas Castle and Neetze from the Samtgemeinde Ostheide and the Municipality Scharnebeck and the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg.

History

Reinstorf existed for almost 900 years, because on September 27, 1124 the place and the church were named in a document by Pope Calixtus II as a confirmation of the possession of the monastery Rastede in Oldenburg.

The place was up in the 1960s with the church and school, a doctor, three pubs and numerous craft shops administrative center of the surrounding villages, which all belong to the parish Reinstorf.

In the last 20 years, the village picture has changed. Some farms have abandoned the operation. The school, two of the three village pubs, the merchant stores, the savings bank and the post office no longer exist. What remains as a social center of the village, the church, together with the rectory and the St. Vitus generation house of the association for home care eV, the gun club Hubertus Reinstorf and the surrounding area with the large clubhouse and shooting range, the volunteer fire department and the sports club. The economic cycle Reinstorf eV strives to revive the economy through advertising and events in addition to the remaining craft and restaurants.

In the 1980s, the house numbering system was replaced by size of farm by street names and new house numbers.

To the west of the village is a new housing development with 16 houses, was formed in 2003. In 2013, road works were in time for the 888- year celebration in the village renovation completed with the renovation of sewers in large parts of the resort, so that the local picture is friendly and hotel guests can enjoy the place again.

On March 1, 1974, the municipalities Lumber, Horndorf and Wendhausen were incorporated.

The municipality belongs to Reinstorf parliament constituency 48 Elbe and the Bundestag constituency 38 Lüchow -Dannenberg - Lüneburg.

Economy and infrastructure

On the main road, a farm has been transformed into an active hotel around 1990, which has been awarded four stars. There regular meetings and training sessions are held.

Traffic

There is a bus service to Lüneburg. It runs three times a day.
