Rice Bach is a district ( district ) in the municipality in the district of Saarlouis Saarwellingen in Saarland. Until the administrative and territorial reform in Saarland in 1974 rice Bach was a separate municipality.

Location

Rice Bach is located in the southern foothills of the Hoxbergs. North of Labach is the castle site of the old castle.

History

The community rice Bach was founded on 1 April 1937 as a merger of places Reisweiler and Labach. The name of the new municipality is composed as a portmanteau of the names of the two places. The first documentary mention of the place Reisweiler was 1154. The name is composed of Radi ( Germanic village chief, clan father) and the suffix -ville, which means as much as farmland or settlement. Reisweiler was so Arable Land of Radi or Radis settlement. Labach was mentioned for the first time in the thirteenth century as Loubach documented. The name Labach consists Loup (deciduous ) and Bach, Labach is therefore the Laubbach.

On 1 January 1974 rice Bach, blackwood and Saarwellingen were merged to the municipality Saarwellingen.

Policy

Mayor

Current mayor is Heinrich Bauer (CDU, since 2004). His predecessors were Alfred Bettscheider (CDU, 1989-2004 ) Johann Schneider (FDP, 1979-1989 ) and Rudolf Birringer (CDU, 1974-1979 ). Prior to the 1974 local government reform in rice Bach was an independent municipality. Last mayor was Leopold Schneider as the successor of Theodor Klein.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was rice Bach awarded on 11 May 1964.

Partnership

  • Rice creek maintains a partnership with the homonymous village rice creek in Lower Bavaria.

Economy and infrastructure

Previously it was rice Bach as a miner farming village, most of the men of the place were miners and part-time farmers. There are only a few full-time farmers, most of the residents are in the service trades. In the village a general practitioner, a dentist, two garages, a supermarket, several dining establishments, an agricultural trading and other businesses are located. In addition to the primary school there is a multi-purpose hall ( Lohwieshalle ), which is used by the sports and cultural associations, an artificial pitch and tennis courts.

In Reisweiler the parish center of St. Mary is with parish church, parsonage and a new parish hall.

Because of coal mining under the town was mounted on hydraulic cylinders to compensate for the earth moving as a safety measure, the church. Prior to this conversion, a temporary church was built, which is now used as the parish hall and meeting room.
