Reisiswil
Reisiswil is a municipality in the Oberaargau in the canton of Bern in Switzerland.
Geography
Geographically Reisiswil part of the Upper Aargau. The community is located west of Melchnau on the eastern slope of a wooded hill majority of the train, which extends from Langenthal up Huttwil and on the 780m high Hohwacht finds its culmination. Neighboring municipalities are Melchnau, Madiswil and Gondiswil.
Policy
Legislative Assembly is the church, which is formed by all voting citizens. Executive is the local council, which is elected by the voting population. Community is President Erika Meyer -Lanz (2009).
Economy
Reisiswil is still heavily reliant on agriculture. Next still exist smaller craft and service companies.
Tourism
On the Hohwacht is a popular observation tower and a restaurant, which led to a modest weekend tourism.
Traffic
This street is a side branch of the main road from Melchnau after Gondiswil. Since it is paved, but has very little traffic, it is very popular with sporting cyclists.
History
The first mention of Reisiswil dates from the year 1194 as Richolsiswillare. Today's church was built in 1815 Reisiswil by separation from the community Melchnau.
Arts, culture, education
Men's Choir, Women's shooting club and provide an active village life. The kindergarten and primary school are brought together with Gondisiwil. The kindergarten is located in Reisiswil, the primary school in Gondiswil. Between the villages runs a school bus.
At the highest point of the village, 780m high Hohwacht, was until 1798 a signal station. Today, a 20m high observation tower on a clear day has views of the Churfirsten across the Pilatus to Mont Blanc.
