Reiulf Steen

Reiulf Steen ( born August 16, 1933, Hurum ) is a Norwegian politician.

At age 14 years he was chairman of the local Labour Party. He worked shortly as a factory worker, but was then a journalist for the newspaper Fremtiden in Drammen.

From 1965 to 1975 he was deputy from 1975 to 1981 and Chairman of the Norwegian Labour Party.

From 1971 to 1972 Steen was transport minister from 1979 to 1981 and Minister for Trade. From 1977 to 1989 he was Member of Parliament for the Province of Akershus.

He showed special interest in Latin America and was appointed ambassador to Chile in 1991. He remained five years in this office.
