Reiyūkai

Reiyūkai (Japanese霊 友 会, dt " Society of Friends of the Spirits ") is the name of a 1919 emerged from the Nichiren new religious movement Appearance of Japanese Buddhism.

Organised as a lay community community adores the Lotus Sutra ( Hokke - kyō Japanese ) as the highest expression of the Buddhist message. In her practice, she also retains some aspects of ancient Japanese religion of Shinto, attaches importance to the worship of ancestors, but is also involved in charitable and social.

From 1938 Reiyūkai went out the (larger) Rissho Kōseikai. After the Second World War, it was also the basis of other religious movements in Japan.

The Reiyūkai has about 2 to 3 million followers.

Spin-offs

From Reiyūkai the following companies emerged. The year in parentheses is the year of foundation. The German translations are based on the Japanese names of the companies and are not their official names.

  • Kodo (yes ): respect for parents (1935 )
  • Rissho Kōseikai: Society for erection of legal and interpersonal relations (1938 )
  • Shishinkai (yes ): Love / feeling to the parents (1938 ) Kishinkai (yes ) soul / spirit / feeling / heart without the same (1953 )
  • Fumyōkai (yes ): Society of Universal Wisdom ( 1949)
