Release agent

Release agents are used to prevent sticking Abformprozessen in the mold with the part or to keep items consistently separable.

The application of the release agent called immersion race.

Release agents often contain wax or fat, and are therefore hydrophobic.

  • Margarine on the baking tray
  • Corn starch, beeswax or carnauba wax on gummy bears
  • Anti-caking agents in table salt
  • Calcium phosphate ( E 341 ) in some powdered foods such as coffee whiteners for preventing clumping of the powder
  • Wax on plastic molds
  • Hot thread compound or titanium nitride between machine parts which are exposed to high temperatures
  • Corn flour or calcium powder as a release agent in the sheet-fed offset printing
  • Forming oil, in concrete construction to separate the concrete from the mold ( formwork ) used
  • Silicone oils as a release agent in die casting
  • Talc at Zinngießen with silicone molds
  • Carbon black on Zinngießen with metal molds.
