Relief valve

The relief valve is installed between the supply and return of a heating system, for systems without mixing valve can also be installed between pressure and suction sides parallel to the heating pump.

The valve limits the discharge pressure of conventional pumps. It ensures a minimum flow in the boiler circuit by opening as soon as the discharge pressure exceeds the set value on the valve. This case occurs when little or no heating is required in the connected heating circuit. In addition, the overflow valve reduces the annoying part throttle noise from thermostatic valves and possible vapor bubble formation and thus cavitation on the impeller.

Compared with speed or even pressure-controlled pump, however, can not achieve with an overflow valve energy saving because the pump still delivers a constant flow rate.
