Remco van der Schaaf
Remco van der Schaaf (born 28 February 1979 in Ten Boer ) is a Dutch football player. His position is defensive midfielder but he can also be used as a central defender. Since 2011 he plays for Randers FC.

Association
He began his career van der Schaaf in the youth department of VV Omlandia and later played for the Junior TOP Oss. In 1997, the first division club Vitesse Arnhem him under contract, in which he also gained first international experience in the UEFA Cup. In January 2000 he was loaned for six months to the trained Bert van Marwijk league rivals Fortuna Sittard. At the end of the loan period, he returned to Arnhem back and played there for two years, but has established itself as a regular player until the 2001/ 02 season.
In the summer of 2002, van der Schaaf moved to PSV Eindhoven, the van Marwijk now trained. With the club he was two times Dutch champion, won the 2004 Johan Cruyff Schaal and participated in the UEFA Champions League. As a regular player but could not prevail there, and therefore changed 2005 back to Arnhem, where he was a top performer and is recommended for a move to England for second division FC Burnley as 2008. In the English, he signed a three-year contract, but came only in the first game of the season 2008/ 09 are used. Four times sat van der Schaaf then still on the bench before he was loaned in the spring of 2009 for the rest of the season to the Danish first division club Brøndby IF. After his return, he was nevertheless not be considered in Burnley, so he was loaned in the spring of 2010 for the half -year remaining term of his contract again after Brøndby. At the end of the loan period, van der Schaaf joined the Danish second division club Randers FC, with whom he reached the rise in the following season in the Super League.

Remco van der Schaaf graduated from Arnhem during his years 1999-2001 a total of seven games for the Dutch U-21 National Team, together with the later A- internationals like Dirk Kuijt, Rafael van der Vaart and John Heitinga.
