Remig Stumpf

Remig Stumpf ( born March 25 1966 in Schweinfurt ) is a retired German racing cyclist.

Remig Stumpf, who started for the RSG Nuremberg, was one of the best German road racer in the 1980s. Already in the Youth and Junior classes he was successful. In 1986, he won, even as an amateur, Rund um Köln, Rund um Düren and the Berlin stage race. In the Tour de Suisse 1987 Stumpf decided the fifth stage of its own. In 1987 and 1988 he won the International Ernst- Sachs - tour and Rheinland -Pfalz Tour. In 1987 he took part in the Peace Race and won the 13th stage. In 1987 and 1988 he became German champion in the time trial.

In 1988 Remig stump at the Olympic Games in Seoul in the individual road race ( 14th place ) and in the team time trial, but without medal success. He then became a professional. Twice, in 1991 and 1992, he competed in the Tour de France, but was both times not in Paris. He also drove six-day races and won twice in Cologne, 1992 and 1993 with Bruno Holweger Urs Freuler. In 1993 he ended his cycling career.
