Remington Products

Remington is a brand for men's shavers, hair clippers, razors Ladies / Epilator and various hair styling products. The brand belongs since October 2003 U.S. Group Spectrum Brands. The Remington products marketed in Germany, VARTA Consumer Batteries GmbH & Co. KGaA, headquartered in Ellwangen (Jagst ), a subsidiary of Spectrum Brands.

History

Remington was founded in 1936 as the company Remington Rand Division. 1937 Remington brought the first electric dry shaver on the market. In the following years, the company worked on the development of razors with multiple shaving heads. 1940 presented the first razor with two shaving heads and 1941 the first shaver with three shaving heads and trimmer. In 1960 Remington the first battery shaver on the market. Equipped with nickel -cadmium batteries you could shave with it for several days without electricity.

In 1979 the company of Victor Kiam was purchased and continue as Remington Products Inc.. 1993 Remington bought the personal care division of Clairol Inc.. 1996, the company was reorganized and renamed the Remington Products Company, LLC, based as before in Bridgeport (Connecticut). In 2003, Remington was acquired by the U.S. battery maker Rayovac, which changed its name in 2005 Spectrum Brands and on 3 February 2009, a process in accordance with Chapter 11 of the Bankruptcy Code of the United States requested.
