Rosa ' Enfant de France'

French remontant means " later in the season once again flourishing ." Roses with this property are remontant roses, the property is called Remo dance.

Remontant Roses

Remontant roses are the link between the old and modern roses, they were involved in almost all major classes rose in its creation. Many of the " Old Roses " bloom only once. With the modern roses that bloom was to be extended into the autumn. This property has been - as recent DNA studies have shown - achieved by introgression of Pink fedtschenkoana. The mainly incurred in the second half of the 19th century, roses were often shown in the Victorian period on rose exhibitions. Pure white, pink, crimson, purple and bicolor, mostly well- scented, they form bushes of about 100 to 180 cm in height.

The interest of the breeder has at times limited to the colors and beauty of the flowers, so many remontant - roses do not smell and fell the suitability as a garden plant in the background.
