Renaissance Hotels

Renaissance Hotels is an internationally recognized hotel chain. The brand is owned by Marriott International. Many hotels are managed by Marriott, but there are also a few Renaissance Hotels which are operated by franchisees.

For the chain are mostly 5-star hotels and resorts, including the well-known, especially in the United States Hotels in Times Square in New York that " The Mayflower ® Renaissance Washington, DC Hotel " (in which since 1925 each Inauguration Ball of the U.S. was organized Presidents) or the "The Stanford Court Renaissance San Francisco Hotel " (directly on Nob Hill ). There are 160 Renaissance Hotels, almost half of them in the U.S., the world (as of January 2011). German chain of hotels located in Bochum, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Karlsruhe, Cologne and Munich. Number and distribution of the hotels are subject to some fluctuations, since the chain is one of Marriott. This is due to intra-group name changes ( as was, for example, the former Munich Ramada hotel converted into a Renaissance Hotel, while the existing Sydney House is now operating under Marriott), new buildings (eg in Bangkok, Bochum) and the surrender of a house to a competitor (such as Dortmund or even Goa, India and Alexandria, Egypt).

History

Renaissance Hotels were originally founded in 1982 as Ramada Renaissance Hotels, order in addition to the normal Ramada houses (usually 3 - or 4- star hotels) to be represented in the high-priced hotel market. 1989 Ramada hospitality and franchise system of New World Development Company of Hong Kong bought ( the U.S. rights were sold to Prime Hospitality ) and 1993 Renaissance Hotels has established itself as an independent brand, while the former Ramada Corp.. in Aztar Corp.. has been renamed. In 1996, New World bought the Stouffer Hotel Co., Nestlé and transformed them into Renaissance houses. 1997 Marriott bought the majority of New World, whereby most Renaissance Hotels now belonged to the Marriott. In 2005, Marriott bought most remaining at New World / CTF guided Renaissance Hotels in North America and Europe with the intention of selling them under long-term management and franchise contracts.
