Renan Demirkan

Renan Demirkan ( born June 12, 1955 in Ankara, Turkey) is a German writer and actress.

Life

Renan Demirkan came in 1962 as a seven year old child with her family to Hanover, where she first attended the Gerhart -Hauptmann- junior high school and later at the vocational school industry completed her high school diploma. Until 1980 she studied in Hanover spectacle. There followed two years of performing engagements in Nuremberg, Dortmund and Cologne; it is - in addition to her other duties - to this day on stage. Since 1981, it shall also solo performances and readings.

In 1982, she received her first role in a movie. She became known for her role in the movie Schimanski tooth for tooth (1985). Since then she has played mainly in television films.

1991 appeared with black tea with three lumps of sugar her first novel. To date, followed by four more books. Demirkan also wrote for the stage.

Since the 1990s, she is also known as a presenter and laudatory of events worked, including Amnesty International and UNICEF. She is a member of the PEN center of Germany.

Demirkan 2004 was a member of the Federal Assembly in the 12th year. She was nominated by the SPD and represented the State of North Rhine -Westphalia.

She is the mother of a daughter and lives in Windeck.
