Renate " Idgie " Lingor ( born October 11, 1975 in Karlsruhe) is a former German football player. She played from 1991 to 2008 in the Bundesliga from 1995 to 2008 for the national team.
Sporting career
Club football
Renate Lingor began in 1981 when SV Blankenloch. There she spent two years playing at the same time in the boys and girls in a team. In 1983 she moved to the youth department of the Karlsruher SC. In 1989 she moved to SC blade Seckach, where she began her career Bundesliga. Although their other clubs made offers for their technical skills, they remained eight years at the club. Only in 1997, she moved to SG Praunheim, which began to assume a dominant role in the German women's football as 1st FFC Frankfurt.
In the cup final 2008, she suffered an acromioclavicular blowing ( Tossy III), the first threatened to jeopardize their participation in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. But was fit in time Lingor and therefore nominated for the Olympic Games. Your active club career, she ended with the 2007/ 08 season at the 1st FFC Frankfurt.
National
Before she made her debut in the senior national team at the 1995 European Championship qualifier against Slovakia, they already played 19 times in the German U20 selection. The strong dribbling midfielder was regarded as very creative, had great vision and dominated the so-called " killer pass ". She was also known for its dangerous free kicks.
In the Olympic tournament in Sydney in 2000 and especially in the European Championship 2001, she was one of the performers inside. Renate Lingor won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Athens in 2004. She scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 in the 3rd place match against Sweden. In 2005 she became European Champion for the third time with the national team.
In 2006, she finished behind Brazil's Marta and the US-American Kristine Lilly third place in the election for the FIFA World Player of the Year. On 21 August 2008 they played their 149th and last match in the Olympic football tournament in Beijing against Japan (2-0).

Lingor is studied sports science. Since 2006 she works at the DFB in the Department of College Football newly founded and was for the Women's World Cup 2011 in Germany ambassador. Her brother Wolfgang plays American football.
