Renato Soares de Oliveira Augusto ( born February 8, 1988 in Rio de Janeiro ), called Renato Augusto, is a Brazilian footballer.

Association
CR Flamengo
Renato Augusto played in the youth of CR Flamengo from Rio de Janeiro and began his professional career there in 2005. Already in the following season he won his first national title when he could win the Brazilian Cup with Flamengo Copa do Brasil. 2007 and 2008 state championship in Rio de Janeiro was recovered. In 2007, he was immediately before a change to U.S. Palermo. Other European clubs showed interest in the offensive specialists. But the change did not happen.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen
A year later, on 10 July 2008, Bayer 04 Leverkusen announced the change Renato Augusto to the German Bundesliga. About the transfer fee was not disclosed. His first competitive match for Bayer 04 completed the Brazilians in the DFB Cup 10 August 2008 against Rot -Weiß Oberhausen, in which he scored with a shot in the 69th minute, the time between 1-0 to Leverkusen. Renato Augusto's first assignment in the Bundesliga took place just one week later on 16 August 2008 with the 2:3 defeat to Borussia Dortmund. In 33 of the 34 season games he came in his first year, scoring two goals. However, the next season was a "lost season ", he had to contend with knee and calf problems and did not find his form. Overall, he had only 17 appearances, usually not over the full season. In the season 2010/11 he was able to stabilize its performance and contributed six goals in 27 games to win the runner-up at.
SC Corinthians Paulista
After enduring injuries and because he thus hardly came to play, Augusto moved during the winter break for 3.5 million euros back to Brazil for SC Corinthians Paulista São Paulo.
National
Renato Augusto went through all the junior sections of the Brazilian federation.
On February 9, 2011 Augusto made his debut in the senior national team in the 0-1 defeat against France. In the preliminary squad for the Copa América 2011, he was not nominated.
