Renato Curi

Renato Curi ( born September 20, 1953 in Montefiore dell'Aso (AP ), † 30 October 1977 in Perugia ) was an Italian football player.

Career

Renato Curi grew up in Pescara, Pescara at Marconi, he learned to play football. For the season 1969/70 he was obliged Giulianova Calcio. As a 16 -year-old graduated from the 1.65 meter tall midfielder two appearances for the first team. In the following 1970/71 season, in Giulianova the rise of the Series D was achieved in the C series, he was already with 31 inserts the age of 17 starting players. He played two more years for Giulianova in the third division before it undertook in 1973 Como Calcio. For the second division Curi played 24 games without scoring a goal.

After a year in the north of Italy bought him the AC Perugia for 300 million lire. In 23 Series B games Curi scored four goals and contributed to the rise of AC Perugia in Serie A at. In the next two years he was one of the best players in Perugia. During the Serie A home game against AC Perugia Juventus Turin on 30 October 1977, he collapsed at the beginning of the second half and could not be revived.

In his memory, the stadium in Perugia was named after him. In Città Sant'Angelo in the province of Pescara amateur club Renato Curi Angolana bears his name.
