Renault TRM 10000

The TRM 10000 ( in the jargon soldiers: le dix mille ) is a French heavy trucks (6 × 6) of Renault Trucks, which is the successor to the TRM 9000. It is primarily intended for the transport of military loads, but there are also versions for other tasks.

History

The production of the TRM 10000 began in 1985. It was developed from the earlier nine -ton TRM 9000, which was intended primarily for export. It differs from this by a longer wheelbase, an improved transmission and a more powerful engine.

Originally planned the French armed forces to procure 5,000 trucks, but ultimately only about 1,000 vehicles have been ordered. The TRM 10000 was produced in several variants. It can carry up to 24 soldiers on benches on the bed. A special version with a larger cab was designed as a tractor for the French howitzer Canon 155 TRF1.
