René Binder

Rene Binder ( born January 1, 1992, Innsbruck) is an Austrian racing driver. It starts in the GP2 series since 2012.

Career

Binder began his motorsport career in 2002 in karting, where he was active until 2008. Among other things, he was third in 2007 the German Junior Kart Championship and 2008 Second German Challenger Kart Championship. In 2009 he moved to the Formula racing and entered for the Team Abt Sportsline in the ADAC Formula Masters. While his team-mate Daniel Abt, who had already completed an ADAC Formula Masters season, as opposed to binders, won half of the race and decided the championship titles, binder was with three podium finishes seventh in the championship.

2010 moved binder in the German Formula 3 Cup Moto Park Academy. With a third place as best result he finished the season in twelfth place in the championship, while his team-mate Kevin Magnussen and Jimmy Eriksson won several races. 2011 moved to Binder Jo Zeller Racing and denied his second season in the German Formula 3 at the end of the season was Binder who did not compete at an event with a third place as best result in eighth place overall. In addition, Binder took part in a race weekend of the FIA Formula 2 Championship. 2012 graduated binder for Van Amersfoort Racing its third season in the German Formula 3 Among other things, he won a difficult wet race at Spa -Francorchamps. 2013 moved Binder completely in the GP2 series in which he continues to hit the start for the team Lazarus. At the season opener in Sepang, he qualified eighth for the first time for the top 10 in the sprint race Binder scored with an eighth place his first top- 10 ranking and at the same time his first point in the GP2 series. At the event at the Circuit de Monaco binder came in two races in the top 10 to the finish. In the main race, he finished seventh in the sprint race in sixth. These three points were the only rankings during the season. Binder finished the season off on the 23rd overall. He took 11 of the 12 points of his racing team in the season. In René binder family, some members were active in motorsport. His father Franz Binder won the 1987 Austrian Formula 3 Championship and his uncle Hans Binder started, among other things in Formula 1
